Katie Etheridge & Simon Persighetti are artists and performance makers based in Cornwall, who create and produce projects locally, nationally and internationally that explore the interrelationships between people and place.
Recently Katie and Simon have been:
> exploring the network of personal relationships between shoppers, food and traders at Leeds Kirkgate Market [Personal Shopper, Commissioned by Compass Live Art, 2014 – present]
> experimenting in collaborating with the weather as an agent for live art [Atmospheric Pressure commissioned by Live Art Development Agency and Folkestone Fringe, 2014]
> investigating the textures, histories and viewpoints of the places we pass through daily, inviting residents to ‘wear’ their town or city in a temporary tattoo [Porous City 2011-2014].
In Cornwall in 2014 they made artworks and performances for Embedded Festival at Enys house [The Tender Room], Penryn Arts Festival [Porous Penryn], and The Sketch House at Inland Festival [Performance Lecture on Atmospheric Pressure].
Simon is also a core member of Wrights & Sites, a group of performance-trained artists producing international site-specific performances, walking projects, publications, and other art works since their formation in 1997.
Katie is the face behind Faceback, the live art game that has gone viral at Festivals and events across the UK, connecting 1000’s of people who wouldn’t normally meet. Most recently, 750 people participated in Faceback at Falmouth Tall Ships!
Katie Etheridge & Simon Persighetti are both experienced educators, and have individually and collaboratively produced festivals, workshops, and arts events across the UK.
